Song Help Request Not on the Test

OK. Came across this song today and it is here http://www.notonthetest.com/ Does anyone know what chords Chapin is using? i can not find it on the web and i can't play by ear. I want to play this for my class since we are in the middle of testing right now and we will be testing again in April. Please no tabs. i don't know how to read tabs.

It's in C (or perhaps my guitar is out of tune, it's not been played for a while) and seems to be a pretty standard progression. Noodle around with C, Am, F, and G7 and you should be able to find an acceptable version.

Thanks for that Sigmund. Now for a not stupid question. My ears really don't work but should I start out with C? and could I substitute a g for g7?
