Song Help Request Jake's Help

Apologies, but I couldn't find it with the search option.. help and Jake are very popular keywords (assuming that it's a repost)..

So I wanted to play the way he plays it...Does he just play the chords or something? I tried watching his left hand with the frets but I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing different.

Apparently, you need a digital delay on the output, which is cheating in my book.

digital delay output? what sort of qualities does that produce? I thought you that he was playing it purely acoustic.

There's no digital delay on that bus. If there was, you'd hear it in various places throughout the song, such as the pause at 0:30.
