Has anyone worked out the chords for the Schoolhouse Rock classic - Three Is A Magic Number? It has been stuck in my head and I haven't found the chords posted at the usual spots. Also interested in Conjunction Junction.

:anyone:

Thanks!

School House Rock

I do not know how to play that, but it would be an excellent entry in the Sonny Daze TV Challenge.

I am hoping some out there can help with an artists interpretation of this song (even strumm pattern) vs. sheet music

I found some links to the original and the Blind Melon cover:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxmKRyLdBho - original Bob Dorough version

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkxX9oPuKQc - Blind Melon song starts at 14 sec.

I've had this song in my head since the 70's. I think it would be a great song for the uke / kids of all ages - audience participation - could be busk worthy :).

Appreciate any help!

That could be good!

"That's not fair givin a guy a shot down there...."

If you happen to be contemplating buying the Schoolhouse Rock DVD Disney put out, the audio on it is terrible.

Knocked through most of it this evening, so here's something to get you started:

The original is in E and is just E A B for the intro, and E and A through most of the song with a stop at B at the end of multiplying backwards:
Code:
(Now multiply backwards from 3x10)
[E]3x10 is [A]30
[E]3x9 is [A]27
[E]3x8 is [A]24
[E]3x7 is [A]21
[E]3x6 is [A]18
[E]3x5 is [A]15
[E]3x4 is [A]12
and 3x[E]3 is 9
and [B]3x2 is [???]6
and 3x[B]1 is 3 of course
(Now dig the pattern once more!)

I can't figure out what the mystery chord is in 3x2 is 6. Might be an A, but doesn't quite sound major to me.

The Blind Melon version is in D, so the chords are D, G, A and the mystery chord (G?).

ETA: De La Soul used bits of this song in The Magic Number.
