Hi guys, ive been working on a grizzly uke kit to get me started, ive read somewhere(cant find the link) that the grizzly instructions give the wrong distance for the bridge. Is there a bridge location calculator? thanks :-}
If you don't know the scale length, but have the fret board, you can measure to the 12th fret, then double the measurement. This will give you the scale length, assuming that the fret board is slotted somewhat accurately.
If I remember correctly the scale length is supposed to be 13.5" When I built one of these, I first measured the acutal nut to fret measurments on the pre-made grizzly fretboard. I then put a 13.5 scale length in the fret calculator and then compared the calculated nut to fret measurements with the actual to make sure the fretboard was really set up for 13.5. I am not very trusting.
As an aside I was amazed at the loose tolerances on the pre-made fretboard. Gave me confidence to make my own.
