My little bundle of second period sunshine student is pissed at me. She claims I didn't tell them they had homework. She got even more pissed when I pointed out that everyone except her and her buddy was turning it in so maybe, just maybe she was talking and not paying attention in class.

Teenagers are a little nuts.

More than a little.

Remember, I have a counseling degree and nine years experience in that field. When I was working with adolescents, the most difficult part of diagnosis was determining the differential between pathology and normal adolescence.

I have not yet delved into homebrewing, but I did get a nice Mr. Beer kit for my birthday. Now I know full well that Mr. Beer is to homebrewing what Duncan Hines is to baking, but I do wanna dip my toes in before jumping off the high dive.

As for yeast, on the first Sunday of every month I get up really early and start the bread machine in the sanctuary for communion. On communion Sundays the whole church smells like fresh baked bread. My recipe calls for allowing the yeast to foam in hot sugar water before adding the oil, salt, and flour. The only difficult part is to not get the water too hot or it will kill the yeast. So on more than one occasion, it's been a big dense lump of gluten that smelled fabulous.

You should get a John Deere Gator. Not only would you keep the hitch-hikers off of you, you could take the lovely bride with you on such excursions.

It looks like a nice machine, but do you know what those cost? Wow!

Being that fall is here...

QUESTION OF THE DAY

When do you turn on the heat in your house for the cold weather?

We usually wait a while.

The lovely bride says November.
I, many times, don't make it that long.

I guess this question doesn't compute to all of us?
It totally depends on the outside temperature. It's already on. But it only runs when the temp in the house goes below 68. We do not like being cold any more than is necessary.

I wait till the inside temps drop to the low 60s. That is usually Decemberish around here.

Chatting mom up so they can gauge her orientation. So far I have heard about mom and dad's first date, and that I was not a planned pregnancy. Lol!

So true, my kid is pretty easy, but sometimes I've got to really quiz him on why he's being a punk on some particular day, wondering if he got picked on at school or just in a mood because some hormonal thing is kicking around.

You and me both, shortly after my dad died I was talking with mom one day and she was saying that when I was born people didn't plan pregnancies.

I walked down the hall and looked. 65 degrees., almost ten am.

That would kind of defeat the purpose of a walk don't ya' think?!

Yes.

Or you could get, gasp!, something used. Our friends have some vehicles called mules. Kinda like heavy-duty golf carts.

I don't have that kind of money for toys. John Deere said that model started at $15,499.

We do it by temperature, rather than by date. This year, we have had it on already. Like someone else said already, it's thermostatically controlled, so it will only kick on if need be....

I was most certainly an accident. My Dad was 50 with two teenaged kids. He saw the light at the end of the tunnel. It was a train.

Thanks to everyone who offered advise about printing from my laptop. I know Jon, Freeda, Damon, and maybe others offered suggestions (sorry if I missed anyone).

I've done some checking. Our printer has the capability to work wirelessly, apparently. I think I just need to install the printer software on the laptop, and then figure out how to use this feature. Failing that, I can still just connect the printer cable (it's a regular USB plug) directly to the laptop temporarily. That just means crawling around on the floor to access the cable behind the computer tower.

I even managed to find the CD that came with the printer! I guess the next step is to try to install the software from the CD to the laptop....

Accidental pregnancies? I was born in the early fifties to an unwed teenager, and immediately put up for adoption. Yeah, I'm guessing it wasn't planned....
