Thunderguts vs. Pyramids on a Tenayo U-bass

I compared Aquila Thundergut strings and Pyramid copper wound strings on a Tenayo UBass with a bit of "rappers delight" and "everytime you go away". For my ears and feel, there is no good or bad, they are just different and both have their own qualities:

DIY U-bass got new strings ...

Hi Mike, surely I had to change something to the bridge. Without big efforts I extended scale to 510 mm by positioning the nut beyond its original position: An additional compensation was done to the nut with another 6 mm difference between G and E-string: Still not perfect, but satisfactory.

DIY U-bass got new strings ...

Hi there, I made a short video using my DIY U-Bass. It was made of a Dimavery UK-300 baritone ukulele, which got new tuners, a tailpiece, new nut/saddle, and a simple piezo underneath the top. As I got it, it was strung with regular strings from a standard 5-string bass (BEAD) tuned to EADG...

Germany before the war - Randy Newman

    Oscar Schmidt OU28T 8-string

I had a lazy sunday and time to make an new saddle from bone. Here's the difference: Left old, right new. The choirs are closer now, and the choirs are better separated. Easier to play => even more fun :)

    Oscar Schmidt OU28T 8-string

Here's a photo of mine: Actually not a problem, but could have done better ;) With bigger hands, I would install another saddle.

    Oscar Schmidt OU28T 8-string

Hello, I got a used OU28T 8-string ukulele and want to give a short review/introduction. Made of mahagony laminate, all quite simple but good. It got easy going closed tuners. Intonation appears perfect, string action is quite well. Mine was equipped with Aquila strings. The string pairs are...

    Nature Boy

My version of "Nature Boy". Sung by so many, meanwhile a Jazz standard, I was told. I never heard the song before I grabbed it from the german ukulele chat board. A very nice song :)
