FS - Martin C1K solid koa concert ukulele

[Price drop again] This thing plays like a dream and sounds amazing - bright, ringing koa tone. Craftsmanship is impressive. Two things: As you can see, the Martin decal came off the headstock. I'm not sure how, it was like that when I bought it. I'm told any Martin dealer can fix that if it...

    Kiwaya KTS-4 Solid Koa Soprano

KTS-4K, that is. I went through a heavy ukulele phase but recently joined a new band as bassist, so my interest has switched to all things bass. In the aftermath I'm left with several excellent ukuleles that I now want to part with to fund suddenly necessary bass guitar gear. This uke is...

    Kiwaya KTS-4K solid koa soprano

I love everything about this gorgeous instrument -- except the size. I've come to the conclusion that concert is my size. I can't play this size as well. My search is on to find a comparable ukulele to this in concert size. I would consider trades. Original tuners, thin neck, small frets, low...

Wound low G not usable on a banjo uke?

I bought a Gretch Clarophone concert banjo uke and took it to a tech for a setup. I normally do my own setups but don't quite trust myself yet with what is essentially a banjo. I gave him Nylguts and a Thomastik Infeld wound guitar D string to use for the low G. He just called to tell me the...

    Replacement tuners for Kiwaya KTS-4K?

I love the sound of my Kiwaya, but the friction tuners are pretty terrible. Takes forever to get the thing in tune. They're so sensitive, they jump sharp at the slightest tightening, and drop flat if I even look at them counter-clockwise. I see Gotoh UPTs on the Ukulele Site for $59. I'm sure...

NUD! Kiwaya KTS-4 ... K? Is it real?

It's my birthday and my fiancee got me this fantastic uke! Actually, she just gave me permission to get it ... heh heh. Ahem, anyway, I was very patient for weeks in my searching and research. I already have a Kala solid mahogany SMHT tenor and an Ohana CK-35G concert, and I wanted a solid wood...

What kind of strings did Ohta-san use?

What kind of strings does Ohta-san use? In my ukulele journey so far, Ohta-san stands out tonally. I do like the sweet, beautiful, chiming, ringing sustain of so many modern uke stars. But Ohta-san is very, very different. His plain, humble, plonky notes are just the best thing I've ever heard...

Greetings from Indiana, my uke journey

Hi there. I've been lurking for weeks and really enjoying this forum. I've learned an incredible amount from you people. Thank you! I'm fairly new to the ukulele. I'm 51 and have played bass guitar since middle school. I've been in at least one band more or less since then. I bought an acoustic...

String tension options on a tenor

Sorry if this has been discussed to death, but I couldn’t find an answer by searching. I have a concert and a tenor. I like the string tension on my concert but I put Aquila tenor strings on my tenor and the tension is much higher. Are there low-tension tenor strings, and if so what are my options?
