Whee, I guessed right! 
I did prefer the second one.
They both sounded nice, though, and had I not heard them right next to each other playing the same things, I wouldn't have noticed much difference.

It may not be the wood that makes the difference between the two but rather the sound hole placement affecting the size of the resonating area of the lower bout.
