Season 139 Repeated Words

This is a song Peewee did in Season 137, "Air" by the Talking Heads. My attempt to play the New Pornographers "Your Hands" ("put put put your hands together") was so bad it brought shame to my family and rabbit. And no matter how big a Genesis fan I may be, I'm not willing to do "Tonight Tonight Tonight".

Hate to bore you all with another vid, but my wife is out of town, so you'll be seeing more of me.
Mystery Train (Train Train)

Here you go BEV. Disco.
Shake Shake Shake

how many ukes is enough ukes, i don't know know know
Yes - a little beauty - made me think of that Chris Isaac song.

A wild ride (WeeGinga) Jim.
Love the distortion and the chord work.
Enjoyed the vocals too!
I just want to hear "Your Hands" now.
C'mon - your rabbit can handle it.

Love the strum and fine vocals on this Sean. Good one!

Shake Shake Shake
Sort of a melancholy feel to this disco number and I like it a lot Sean. Keep 'em coming. Up to seven this week.

I am really enjoying the songs that have come in this season.
Here is a song I've been wanting to do since I saw the fabulous cover by Peter Gabriel and when I saw Sean do a Kinks song it reminded me to get it done.
The repeated word is in the first line.
Waterloo Sunset.

here's my effort

I assume we can multitrack?????

if not i am playing bass and drums with my feet

Huge applause from me, Mike! Smashing remake of this song.
Yes - you've turned it into a whole new song.
Fabulous stuff!
Loved the bass and the whole arrangement.
Thank you for bringing something for 139.

Cheers for that Brian, its a bit sloppy I didnt have much time,

Anyone going to have a go at Bohemian Rhapsody? Lots of repeated words in that one :)
Off you go then Mr Paul. Don't let us stop you. :)

Actually I thought of 'Bohemian Rhapsody' and this one at the same instant.

One take on the vocals/uke. The editing took quite a bit longer. I really should have listened to the original first, I suppose :/

I laughed so much I'm sure a little bit of wee came out. hahahaha Nice one.

I didn't think I'd get time this week, because of other commitments, but there was a delay this morning to the scheduled feed of material, so I had time to write this one.

As well as the straight repetitions, there are some that are only semantic repetitions, some bilingual plays with words, homonyms, homophones and even a Proustian pun, plus an oblique reference to a classic Irish drinking song. I enjoyed writing it, even if it's not the most PC song I have ever done ;)

Hope you like it,

Berni

I've had chance to count now and I make it 106 wimowehs, split into 16, 41 and 49. :^)

Well done, Robin!

If there's a prize for most repeated words, I think you are going to win!

Although, now that the gauntlet's been thrown, it will be interesting to see if anyone else rises to the challenge. :)

Another U2 song that fits this season. I did some more multitracking, I added a shaker a tambourine and a bass track.
This is Shadows and Tall Trees.

Baby, Baby

Two birds, one stone here: I was rehearsing this for our gig Saturday night, when I realised it fit the theme. Original by the Vibrators, but you can find our version on Spotify too (follow the link to Too Drunk To Pluck in my signature).

On Saturday night we're headlining at Camden's famous Dublin Castle (home of Madness). If you're at loose end, do drop by. We're on around 10pm :)

Running late (for a very important date!) so posting this before it's finished uploading - which should be about 7:40pm BST (British Summer Time)
