Hello all! I am a 60ish uke player. Been playing on and off since I've been 7 years old. My dad played and bought me a banjo-uke to learn on. I would sit in a chair facing him and he would show me chords to the songs he knew. Songs like "Five Foot Two", "Old Kentucky Home", "Dixie", "Suwannee River"...all those great old tunes. I have great memories from those days for sure. As a teen I turned to guitar playing because those guys got all the girls. This turned out to be true....to a point. LOL..... Anyhow, I still have my dad's uke that was purchased by my brother while he was stationed in Hawaii when serving in the U.S. Navy around 1962 or so. I am wondering if anyone here can give me any info on it's origin. The only name on it is "Tabu Made In Hawaii" stamped on the back of the headstock. Nothing inside the soundhole or anywhere else. I've been searching the web and haven't found any that look like it. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...
