Hello there Yukon Cornelius,formely haolejohn! I agree the uke is a magical,joy bearing little creature that needs to be shared with the world! Ive been spending a lot of time lately reading and researching some of the fantastic things people are doing with it, the charities and fundraisers and everything in between! What has really caught my eye is the organizations that bring ukuleles to sick children in hospitals and how much of a difference it makes in their lives. I work in a assisted living facilty and sometimes all somebody in need wants is for someone to spend some time with them and show them some compassion. Im happy to say i feel like im part of a community that truly cares about the people around them!

You'll shoot yer eye out, kid.

Don't go puttin' none of that stuff on my sled, Clark. You know that metal plate in my head? I had to have it replaced, cause every time Catherine revved up the UKULELE I'd piss my pants and forget who I was for a half hour or so. So over at the VA they had to replace it with plastic. It ain't as strong so I don't know if I should go sailin down no hill with nothing between the ground and my brains but a piece of government plastic. Do you think that matters Eddie?

I go to my ukulele studio
(which this time of year is colder than an igloo)
to work on chords, practice and woodshedin'
(though if it snows, my kids would rather I go sleddin')

I've about given up on that odu

You just made my day. As a uke beginner I really wanted to enter a contest or a season but was worried about which one and all that jazz because my skills are limited. So now, whether I win or not, I have just entered a contest!
