First uku - Makala or Islander

Hello everybody,

i used the searching and i didn't find anything. I would like to buy my first ukulele, i like tenor and concert, and both are ok.

Now i have seen these:

I know that islander is better, but hasn't got the amplification, and the makala has it.
What do you suggest?

Islander, no questions. There are Islander models with amplification.

My second uke was an islander, and that's the one that really got me playing - I like the wide fingerboard and neck profile. I'd go for a more playable uke over electronics any day.

When I compared them, the Islanders felt better in my hands than the Makalas. And I agree, islanders have a better sound. More frets too, if that's a consideration.

it's an islander concert, what do you think? is it a good decision?
I decided that one because i prefer Mahogany for acacia and concert for tenor.

Yes....Islander is the one of those two ukes. I have a Makala, and it really sounds great, especially for the price, but no comparrison to an Islander!!
BTW....great choice!!!!

Good choice. I wouldn't even consider a Makala now that you brought an Islander into your choices.
