Season 149 ~ Gift Us With a Song

Now if you could just sit me down and explain that last line back to me ...
if you mean your own last line, and the wavelength thing, it means we both poo poo digital radio and are both tuned in to the same radio station on a proper old fashioned radiogram, which is a co-incidence, but hardly alarming

if you mean my last line, then hazy shade of winter is a special watercolour pigment you can buy for painting skies between october and march, and that's commercialisation gone mad but hardly scary

and if you mean my other last line, i do know i can't inhale to say something, without breathing out a line you will find hilarious, and no not always on purpose!!!!!!!! but i'm ok with that!

I feel a little guilty with my first post being an old song for the bonus list, but this song combines a ukulele theme with a Christmas song, so it's I hope it inspires some more carols.

This week, like many others, I'm off work and on the road. As I'll be up in the mountains on the Thai-Burmese border and then on a rarely visited beach on the Isthmus of Kra, I may not have internet access until the week is up, but I'm bringing my uke with me and I hope to share a gift...

My favorite Christmas song. A friend of mine introduced this to me a few years ago and now I ask him to sing it at our singaround every holiday season.

So, when I was first learning to Uke, there were a few videos that made me want to play a certain kind of thing. I noted that there was a section for old videos...but this ain't one of mine. This is where I borrowed my heart from, I learned it here. Aint even on a dang Uke...I am gonna get kicked out of here for sure.
Now, I reckon there are very few of you who have ever been in a room with 5000 Skinheads singing (we are not all racist gang...and we are certainly not all bad), but these kids are broken. Always will be. This song is one of those that puts us back together.
This is heart personified which is why I bore you with it...now back to our regularly scheduled broadcast.

I reckon I best do it now...

Well excellent sound and song ..this strummer is impressed ...solid, dude ...

Okay, well I did manage to make and (mostly) upload the remaining six (yeah, sorry) holiday song videos from my Friday night set. (There were two other songs I did that have been video'd previously.) I made ten videos tonight!

I'll post them tomorrow ... it's past my bedtime.

(I also wrote an original song today, from idea to completed song, that I plan to video tomorrow ... but fear not ... not for this thread.)

Thanks for a fun and productive evening!

Hi everyone, sorry to be so intermittent in the seasons lately. I thought it was funny when I saw Ukuleledaddy and he told me the theme this week because every time Myrna puts on a season I do something depressing. This week is no exception. I have been playing this song for about 6 months now and have been waiting for a week that I could get it in and of course this week is perfect. So, I thought I would do a little something by Sixto Rodriguez who is known for putting out two albums around 1970 that really didn't do anything so he went back to his job in Detroit as a laborer and never really thought about a big music career again. Meanwhile his albums got picked up in apartheid South Africa and became very popular without his knowledge until years later when he was found. I highly suggest watching the documentary "Searching For Sugarman." You can see the trailer here

Well, that was a long explanation but here's my version

Merry Christmas, happy holidays, etc… we're all afflicted :roll eyes:

For Season of the Ukulele 149, here's my contribution to the Christmas Song List.

This is "Christmas at the Zoo" by the Flaming Lips, performed on concert ukulele, Ashbory U-Bass, digital glockenspiel, and vocals.

Zoo action clips were created in Zoo Tycoon by Ani.
