How did this luthier bend these sides?

I have no idea, but those ukes are super cute!
 
I don't see any bends that look difficult. I'd say that the body is most likely multi-segment with a pattern shaped top and bottom support that also serves as the lining strips to join top and back. At least that's most likely how I'd do it.
 
My guess is he cuts the entire body out on a bandsaw from a slab. BTW - my favorite is the snailolele

IF my 7 year old daughter seen that cupcake one, she would want it. I'll make sure she doesn't see it!
 
I think I read a post from that guy where he stated that his sides are cut from either a slab or cut from several pieces and laminated together.
 
I wonder what type of person would look at a jar of pickles and think "I know...ukulele!"
You're sure to hit a few sour notes on that one :rolleyes:
 
If he left out the vinegar and salt, he could have a cukulele.
