"There is nothin' like a Dave,
Nothin' in the world.
There is nothin' you can save
That is anything like a Dave!"

(—Apologies to Rodgers and Hammerstein)

This thread is where you can post a recording of you playing a DAVE song.

—A song with David, Dave or Davy (or variation) in the title.
(e.g., "Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier")

—A published song authored by a David, Dave, or Davy (or variation)
(e.g., Dave Matthews, David Bowie, Hal David)

—A song that has been sung and recorded by a David, Dave, or Davy (or variation)
(e.g., David Lee Roth, Sam & Dave, Davy Jones, Dave Clark Five, David Crosby, David Soul)

—An original song about a Dave or David (or variation)

—A song to honor anyone called David, Dave, or Davy (or variation)
(Tell your reasons why.)

—A song sung by you if your name is David, Dave, or Davy (or variation)

The only thought is that the song be linked to someone named Dave (or variation).
If there's a story behind your choice of song, tell it...do tell it.

At Minicon, a Science Fiction convention in the Minneapolis, MN area I used to frequent, there was "The Legion of Super Daves".

There were a LOT of Davids and Daves, mostly born between 1952 and 1967; Must have been the Dave Era in the US

Here is a song I did in UkeyDaves honor. UkeyDave was one of our friends and a fellow seasons that passed on Dec. 20, 2014. We miss him and his fun and encouraging spirit. Here is his version.

Here is mine.

My dad's name was Dave (David Archibald Caldwell)
I wrote this little tune for him.

I still miss him.
He gave me my music.
He could play just about any instrument. And really well too. Cello was his main instrument. But he was good on piano and organ - really good on piano accordion. Brass - played euphonium in a brass band. He played guitar, banjo and ukulele in his younger days. Was a very capable harmonica player.

Brian, this is very, very lovely. The tune is sweet and a perfect track for your slideshow of your father. I'm really glad to have seen it.

And the tune you gave for Daveey's song about his father is also perfectly matched to the tone of his lyrics. You've got quite a skill at capturing this powerful feeling that arises from memory when you don't expect it.

(My father's name was Dave too.)

SillyDave, you've presented a basket of golden-goodie songs—all framed with the SillyDave artistic vision.
I like your characters, the "suave gentleman" and the two guys who sing My Way. These predate the Seasons, so it's nice you brought them out again.

Can you do a Trifecta song: written by a Dave, originally recorded by a Dave, and sung by SillyDave?

Almost two years ago Saskia and I recorded this one especially for Dave/TCK.
It just had to be done:)

A fabulous song rendition dedicated to a uking Dave!
I'm really glad to see (neat background footage!) and hear (great electric guitar!) this performance again.

Here's a cool car that was new that year.
