Pono Baritone question

Hi All,
I understand the Pono Baritone Ukulele uses a trussrod system. Can it be strung with steel or is this crazytalk? My preferred tuning is F# B D# G#.

Crazytalk.

Just because there is a trussrod doesn't mean that an instrument is designed for the higher stress that steel strings would put on the bridge/top.

No, it was not designed for that type of tension.
