seasonistas play other instruments

right

I have a list as long as.......... oooh I dunno, as long as my new tenor guitar ;) ... of things I need to do

but i'm not doing them

because I am too busy playing my new tenor guitar

so

I thought the most useful thing I could do about this

was to... uh... write and play a song about my predicament

This isn't a Grand Piano....it's a toddy little key board ....but at least it's pushed my wobbly bits out of view LOL .................

...and it was cold as well.......

..So, about 8 or so years ago when I was still teaching, I collaborated with the art teacher in my school and we created a Flash Cartoon website. It was about a group of wacky kids in elementary school. The art teacher did all of the art work, we both animated for the site, and I provided all of the voices and music and writing. Since I have always been way too self conscious to perform anything publicly, I got to live out my dream of being in a punk band through this website. I had one of the kids be a poser punk rocker with his own band in this school. They were called the Time Out Kids. He faked a Brit accent even though he was from Cleveland. Anyway, we made some silly cartoons and there was to be a song featured in each episode. I wrote way more content than we ever finished, but after I wrote the 1st song thru this character, I couldn't stop and I wrote like 12 songs in a week. No videos, but if you wanna have a listen, here they are:

Keep in mind they are from the perspective of an elementary school boy.

I've never left dropbox links before. Would someone be kind enough to let me know if these things work?
Thanks!

well I dunno what happened there! I had a listen when you originally posted and I could have sworn I said something about the songs but I must have dreamt that I did, because I've gone back on the thread and can't find what I said - or even what I thought I said - or EVEN what maybe I just DREAMED I said!

what I said was, they were great and really punk-y!

and yes the links work fine, I click on them and open up a little windows media player thingy and the song plays fine

Cool. Thanks Birdie!

OMG Mark, Its 1am and I can't stop listening at your playlist of hilarity. That had to have been so much fun to do:D

What is it with all you teachers and the ukulele. Do you guys have a secret underground club somewhere? Please don't say "yes! Its Ukulele Underground".

I mean what are the stats anyway. Like 99% of you all are teachers, and then there is that one dunce that sits in the back of the room!

and it isn't CeeJay!

Heres a parody I promised BEV for her Eurovision season but it has to be on this thread. The original song is "Fairytale"by Alexander Rybak https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmvcZXw3mZ0. I haven't played the Guitar for 30 years and it was always a classical guitar. This is a steel string acoustic. Excuse the very rough take. The wheels started to fall off but I stayed on the road and safely came to a stop. I couldn't find my old guitar capo so Ive had to double up my two uke capos. Didn't work that great but you do what you have to do.

Sorry about the volume. I didn't realize how loud it really was!

This ones for you BEV :D

In most of the bands I'm in these days, I've moved from mostly playing uke to mostly playing percussion. I put together a little cajon-based kit, and play pretty simple stuff. Here's a recent video from one of my bands (Off The Grid), covering "Black Rose".

And every so often I try something else. Here's another recent video from another band (Capo 5) where I play melodica on our cover of "It Never Rains in Southern California":

A rare stray into the world of the git fiddle for me. This is a Felice Brothers song.
