K&k pickup/preamp

Hey Everyone,

I am wondering which preamp to use for a k&k aloha twin pickup. Those of you with experience with k&k, is the pure preamp by them the best option or something else? I am aware of the other DI boxes out there but don't know if I should go for one of those or the one specifically designed for the pickup.

I got the K&K Pure to go with the K&K pick-up. One uke has Twin Spots, the other Aloha Twin. Works well for me.

When Bradford Donaldson built my custom concert uke, I asked him to install a pickup - he put the K&K twin in (before the Aloha was available), and when I asked about a preamp. he suggested the Pure.

I finally got around to buying one a few months back, and I like it a lot. I also use it with my Fluke, which has an old B-band pickup, and there is no problem there at all.

Just my experience.

Thanks for that guys,
Now do I go for the k&k pure or the k&k pure xlr?
I am usually playing into my fishman sa220 which has a phase switch already for whatever it's worth

You don't need a preamp with a K&K - it's a hot one!

I had HMS put the Aloha Twins on my Pono and use a LR Baggs Gigpro http://www.lrbaggs.com/preamps/gigpro-mixpro-acoustic-preamp mainly because I like the belt clip. Seems to work great.

Well it turns out a friend of mine owns the red eye twin preamp so I will be testing it out. I will report back with my findings ��
