I enjoyed the review and always appreciate hearing about builders that are new to me. It's a nice looking instrument, too. I agree that a lower contrast wood for the head stock stripes might look better.

Nice. How's the balance if you pinch the neck at the 12th? I didn't realise they made ukes in the black country!

Great review and expression of support for friction tuners. I'm a big fan of them and wish more bulders would use them. Aesthetically, I prefer the authentic look of them over the " winged gear tuners " and have found them to be suffcient in holding strings in tune.

I've had the pleasure of playing 3 concerts and 3 sopranos from Dave Morgan, and they were all fabulous. Beautifully made, light as a feather, great tone and playability, plus he's come up with a different, distinctive design that still looks 'classic'. http://djmorganukuleles.co.uk/
