For the last 15 years, I've been putting together an annual CD-length playlist of my favorite songs of the year, which I share with some co-workers. I'm a song addict, so it helps me keep listening to new music and searching for new great songs. These days, I also make it into a YouTube playlist. This is what it sounded like inside my head in 2019.
Psychedelic p*** Crumpets – Bill’s Mandolin
Charly Bliss – Capacity
Gabriel – I Wanna Ahah!
Methyl Ethel – Trip the Mains
Sir Babygirl – Everyone Is a Bad Friend
Craig Finn – Blankets
Rudy Willingham – Pool Party
Billie Eilish – Bad Guy
Broods – Peach
The New Pornographers – The Surprise Knock
Sault – Don’t Waste My Time
FIDLAR – Can’t You See
Honeyblood – She’s a Nightmare
Tame Impala – It Might Be Time
Mac DeMarco – On the Square
Jade Bird – I Get No Joy
Cuffed Up – Small Town Kid
MonteRosso – Aimants
Bombay Bicycle Club – Eat, Sleep, Wake (Nothing But You)
S.O.U.L. Purpose – In Flight Movie: Dr. Goodlungs

I was going to suggest a banjolele ... or a 6 or 8 string Kala.
I have both 6 & 8 string Baton Rouge. Love them both and they're fantastic value. I used the 6 string for both my songs this week. They're around £110 which is what I paid for both mine. Southern Ukulele Store had one at £107 the other day

Hi Del, I know you weren’t asking me , but...about 6 or 7 of the members at our uke group play the 8 strings. I’ve even “borrowed” one from them occasionally. They really are excellent instruments for the money. Sound great, play great. I’ve not heard the 6 string much, and, personally, I would go straight for the 8 string anyway.Hey Geoff - I'm seriously tempted to get one of these - which would you say has the 'fuller' sound, the 6 or the 8?
All contributions gratefully received, John! Cheers for this - I’m sorely tempted! Also now seen this Freshman 8 string with electric pickup on Amazon for a relatively reasonable £179: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07HYW9LCS/ref=cm_sw_r_em_tai_8qcgEb2WRFMA2Hi Del, I know you weren’t asking me , but...about 6 or 7 of the members at our uke group play the 8 strings. I have both a 6- and an 8-string (in the case of the 8-string, both a tenor and a baritone) ... and, I must admit, I very rarely play any of them. To me, the way that the 6-strings are arranged can sound rather weird, although it's quite effective if you are playing something in a minor key. If you were to make a choice, I, personally, would recommend an 8-string. (P.S. Are you asking for contributions towards this purchase, Del, because at the moment, immediately after Christmas, I find myself a little out of pocket!)
I think that looks real good. Plus you can plug it in, which you can’t with the Baton Rouge ( well not on the ones I’ve seen). For £179 squid it’s worth a punt I reckon. All contributions gratefully received, John! Cheers for this - I’m sorely tempted! Thoughts anyone please?
