I'm just back from The Allegheny Ukulele Soiree in beautiful Altoona, Pennsylvania with my new baby.

Our friend, Mim, was there along with a substantial collection of lovely instruments. This one spoke to me, so much so that I could hardly sleep last night. My wife and I have our 25th wedding anniversary coming up later this summer, and she was kind enough to help support my UAS!

KoAloha Concert, Koa wood, satin finish, with beautiful grain and figuring. The projection and tone are remarkable. This little guy really sings!

Pardon the quickie iPhone photos. I'll try to post some better quality images soon. And maybe a sound sample.

Very nice. I also recently got one, but with the gloss. Congrats!

KoAloha's friction tuners are great, I'd not replace them -- especially since you can't re-use the KoAloha branded buttons. I have UPTs on the Black Bear soprano and they definitely are very nice (though I find the base a bit tall, but I have no issues with the original tuners on my KoAloha LN pineapple, and the Opio.

Congrats, Snargle, it's a very beautiful ukulele! It's the only one left on my list of ukes I'd like to try before I downsize. :)

Yeah, I agree, I love the tuners on my KoAloha. Best tuners I've ever used. Also, KoAloha has been using some pretty nice wood lately.

Just curious...is replacing the tuners something an average person can do with regular handyman's tools, or is this a job for a luthier?

very easy...but you do need a reamer so you can make the hole a little larger.....than you just tighten down the nut on the tope of the tuner....noting wrong with the Ko'aloha tuners but not as smooth as the UPTs.....Kamaka finally changed to UPTs a few years ago......

but if you need the Ko'aloha logo than it does not make sense to change.....

Congrats on the new uke. Play it everyday!

Congratulations! I cannot see the pics, however.

Interesting. They're hosted on my Google account and it seems like most people can see them. I'll have to check it out.

I am using Safari on an iPad - I am sure the problem is on my end, not yours. Congrats on the uke though, KoAlohas are terrific. :)

I can't see the pictures in this thread either. Running Linux Mint on HP desktop computer.
