Here is a question to the creative luthiers in the forum.

Is there such a thing as a double-sided or double-strung ukulele?

A double-sided uke would be like taking two ukuleles and gluing the backs together so one uke could be strung high g and the other side strung low g. I play both and hate carrying both around. Does having a uke like this ruin the sound? The uke would have to fit in a case of course, so slimline body. When combined, it woukd be a full-sized uke.

Alternatively, maybe there could be a double-strung uke (for just the g string). This is a uke where the g string is doubled up. Is it possible to design a way to easily switch back and forth to only play either high or low g wo/ restringing the uke?

Haha, in otherwords this uke would be the lazy man's uke. One uke so you do not have to carry around two (and all your other uke stuff).
