Tbug 2016

I hear ya. It is a lot more expensive. We feel very lucky to be able to still afford it. A gracious friend paid for our hotel room. We'll breakfast at a local Mom and Pop place if we can find one, or the Waffle House nearby. IHOP is too expensive.

The agenda looks very very busy. Shall we all meet after the open mic ends around 11PM on Friday? There is a 24 hour jam session room. I think that's the best place, but I'm not sure yet. I will keep you all posted.

Okay, TBUG 2016 is one week away!
All you UUers that are coming, let's meet up. There's a 24 hour jam session room, I think on the 3rd floor of the Sirata. Shall we meet on Friday night, after the Open mic, or on Saturday after the concert? The time change on Saturday night would give us one more hour to stay up late!
What do you all prefer?
 
Okay, since no one is chiming in, let's meet up on Saturday evening after the concert, in the 24 hour jam session room. It will be on the maps in your packet.

Sounds good Nickie. How many of us are meeting there so far? It should be fun putting faces to names.
 
I don't know how many are coming. I do expect to see Freeda, who hasn't chimed in here. She must be enroute. Mim and Sukie aren't coming.

Wow, TBUG 2016 was a major success. Sorry I didn't get to hook up with many of you. Heidi Swedborg, Daniel Ward, Hal Brolund, Mike Krabbers (and his Mrs on bass) all wowed us with their incredible talents. The Sirata Hotel is on the beach, and the sunsets were phenomenal. The folks that got up and performed in the open mics were fantastic, too. There was even a gorgeous MB tenor uke auctioned off. What a great weekend!
 
Turns out bigger was better, we were upgraded to suite at the resort, the talent and presenters were awesome. The food was great. I love that it is all in one place. Already bought my tickets for next year! I heard that in Oct of 2017 there will be a Ukulele festival in Panama City, with Lil Rev, Stu Fuchs and someone else, but that is 6 hours away from me and too close to TBUG as a working person I cannot do both so close together. I wish I lived closer to Tampa so I could attend their jam sessions but I'm an hour and half away and that is a long drive for just a few hours. We have a monthly strum along down here in Nokomis, but it is nothing like the stuff they do in Tampa, they actually play songs from this millennium.. not all stuck in the 50's and 60's which is fun too but I like some of the more current songs as well.

TBUG 2016 really was an awesome event. Learned a lot and had a grand time meeting other uke players. I already bought my ticket for next year. The whole event was so well organized and executed. Many thanks to all the hard workers making TBUG a success. It was much appreciated!
