We'll be providing mashed potatoes, a baked butternut squash/spinich/red onion/craisin dish, green beans, jellied cranberry sauce, rolls, and apple, pumpkin, mince, and chocolate cream pies.

I don't think anyone will leave hungry....:D

Plans have changed, and we're going to my sister's house for a couple of days for Thanksgiving.

Her older son will be in the hospital, which is understandably stressful. Wednesday is her birthday, and Thursday is Thanksgiving, and she was really down about it, thinking there would be no celebration this year.

So, I'm going to get off of work early on Wednesday, and we'll drive to her house (about two hours) and take her out to dinner for her birthday. We'll stay over, and help cook Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. They are providing the turkey, gravy, and stuffing, and we're bringing everything else.

Both days we'll all go to visit my nephew in the hospital. Then we'll stay over again on Thursday night, and drive home on Friday....

Sounds like a plan. I hope your nephew is going to be OK.

Nope had the shoe molding all painted all I need to do was cut and nail in.

What is that wide boarder all around the bottom wall? That looks like the molding I put in after the floors went down. Is shoe molding similar to 1/4 round?

That sounds like a change worthy change of plans. This is the sister that lost her husband a couple years back? Have a great time!

We were at a another basketball tournament this weekend. James wan't feeling all that confident after his poor game last week. But then I reminded him he did well in the last game and we talked about where he could contribute most to the team. He was on fire. He averaged 16 pts. 8 rebounds, 5 steals and about 5 assists a game. His first game went to sudden death overtime. It was pretty exciting. One of the kids who usually doesn't do much saved the day by chasing down a kid on a break away layup and blocking his shot. The coach switched James to point guard and he brought the ball up, faked like he was going to take a 3-point shot and when the defense collapsed on him he threw a pass to his buddy Jake cutting to the basket for an easy layup. The next game they got blown out when the other team double and triple teamed James and Jake every time they got the ball. Our other kids kept turning the ball over. Oh well. They'll learn. Our third and fourth games were uneventful. We played tow very weak team (we're weak too) and won pretty easily.

We will be going to my brother-in-law's house for Thanksgiving. His family started hosting a fun run on Thanksgiving morning (there's a walk route, too). That's one of the ways you can tell they live in a small town. They ask for food or cash donations for the local food bank. It has really grown - over 200 people participate now. Michael gets a balloon arch for the start/finish line and they actually issue participant numbers - it's quite a production. Their family foots all the cost so all donations go 100% to the food bank.

Anyway, we'll be getting down there in time to participate in that, then it should be a slow, lazy day until dinner.

I have no idea what I'm supposed to be making for Thanksgiving.

The only thing I know is we're going to my sisters house.

Not ready to get on the plane in the morning, not ready to be without my other half again,
yet ready to be home.
Nanilei really wants to come with me!
We are surprisingly confident the next four weeks will go by swiftly.

We slipped away to one of the Indian casinos down south. Got a great deal on a room, and Enterprise rents cars for $9.99 a day on the weekends.
So that was fun!
Nanilei won enough so that she did not lose any $.
I spent more than I wanted to but had fun!
Tonight is dinner at Matsu's then back to LAX at 5am.

This will be my first Thanksgiving with no family.

I was just watching a video of an imu cooked turkey.

Hope you won't feel too alone on turkey day. I'm pretty confidant you'll have some sort of "Ohana" around.

We have done the imu turkey on Maui a few times, really good!
Yeah, I will probably wind up somewhere on Thursday

Cooking Thanksgiving dinner in an unfamiliar kitchen should be interesting. I'm sure she must have all the stuff we'll need in the way of pots and pans and stuff. I think I'll take my own potato masher, though. I'm not sure if she uses one....
