PoHoMoJo time again.

Mrs Pere's dad is hospitalized for cellulitis infection in his leg. His dementia is more apparent. It's kind of like he's in a waking dream state where memories surface easily and merge with the present. He finds it pleasant for now but I imagine a nightmare phase isn't too far off. Mother continues her denial of the long term outlook for both of them.

PoHoMoJo coming your way for Mrs. Pere, you, and all involved.

Well that sounds like the sword of Damocles. :/ Mojo inbound.

I don't pick up even if I recognize the caller. Geez, hang up and text me like a normal person.

This is what I don't get. It's apparently generational. I would much rather talk to someone than text with them. Younger folks act like they're being punished if they have to actually speak to someone.

I don't get it....

On its way. Hoping their health issues settle out, and soon....

PHMJ for all who need it. Me included.

Sukie, I saw this the other day, but didn't comment on it. It's been bugging me ever since. My intention was not to ignore you, I hope you know that.

PoHoMoJo to you, for whatever you need it for, and for as long as you need it. You know we're here if you need us....

Today's "shake my head at people".

Friend finds a feather, ostensibly from an owl.

Her friend says "you have to send it to a tribe, they own the rights to feathers".

Um, no. The Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918 says that tribes won't be charged with a crime for possession of Eagle/raptor/etc feathers used for ritualistic purposes.

Sigh. People running around mailing feathers to reservations and casinos. lol

There's a woman here at McD's who is more heavily tattooed than I've ever seen before, and obviously very proud of it. She's wearing a very skimpy top (it IS very hot out) that's exposing a lot of ink.

She has a full back piece with butterflies and flowers which is actually very nice. Then I saw her from the front. She also has a full chest piece, which goes WAY down into her (ample) cleavage, onto both breasts, and beyond. She has a full sleeve on one arm, and a partial on the other. She has some on her legs, too, but not as extensively.

I can't imagine how much she has spent on her tattoos. They're not cheap!

Yes, this. ^^ I wanted to comment but didn't want to pry.

I have never liked to talk on the phone - even before cell phones. I'm old and I'd rather text - most times.

It depends on the person and the intent of the message. Obviously if you just want to chat a call is nice. But if I want to say hey I am on my way or need anything from the store? As you are about to jump in the car, a text is great because you don't have to wait for a response or even reach the person immediately for the message to be effective.

Calling my mom for example, sometimes it takes several attempts to actually get her to pick up. But a text is like writing a little note that she will see on her own time.

Oh.

I think a couple of raccoons are fighting in my backyard. Sounds like dos but I don't have dogs

The night I heard the raccoon kill the cat was a horrifying sound (I didn't realize until I found half a cat the next morning that was what happened). Raccoons have this terrifying growl. They are demon creatures.

I'm experiencing issues with my Kindle this morning, so I'm using our desktop machine, which feels weird, now.

The Kindle doesn't want to connect to WiFi. I've decided to try turning it off and back on again, and it is resisting shutting down.

I sure don't want to lose the use of my Kindle! It's my PoHo lifeline....

If only you had an iPad...oh, wait you do/did.

I lost track of time, folding with the Kindle. I need to get rolling! I have knitting group this morning, and then work this afternoon. Later!

I think I found your problem, Don. Kindles definitely should NOT fold.

Woke up about 3:30 last night with a dull ache in my right side which, over about 10 minutes, rose to a screaming pain. I couldn't decide on appendix or kidney until it clarified itself somewhat - definitely kidney. I've had kidney stones before, but always on the left, so there was no real danger of mistaking it for appendix. Anyway, after figuring it was kidney I felt comfortable taking a narcotic pain pill; the pain subsided enough to get back to sleep (and I suspect the stone shifted to a more comfortable place). Slamming the fluids today to attempt to dissolve and wash away the little bugger. Pain is just a minor background twinge today. Working from home to stay close to the bathroom, though - I'm really pouring the water through!

I don't like initiating calls, but I don't mind talking on the phone. Trying to have a text conversation gets annoying quickly.

Yeah I know what you mean. I have some clients that text me. Really? Just freaking call me.
Or email would be ok too.
