So I guess we're back to Gary and how they messed him up.

They took the card that would have made the dealer bust. I can count cards but it's too much work. I just kind of pay attiention and when the deck goes "positive" I push my bets. It's a huge concern that other players don't take cards they shouldn't. If the dealer has a stiff, and the deck is positive there is a huge probablility that the dealer will bust. If a knucklehead hits on their stiff, they are taking the card meant for the dealer.

While it's true they could just as easily get a low card, I'm banking on percentages that the dealer won't make their hand. I'm paying attention and I know high cards are more likely to come out than low.

How do I prove this?

I don't often lose while playing blackjack unless I get impatient.

You are an interesting person Gary. I would have been oblivious. Matt and Tookta are good at counting cards, but I just look at it as chance.

Casinos make bank on the people who don't take advantage of the few odds in your favor

I've never gambled. It just doesn't interest me. I enjoy watching others play but I have no interest to play myself.

I've played a game called "Let it Ride" poker a couple times. It was fun. I walked away with more money than I sat down with both times.

I don't think they care. In fact the dealer will tell you what you should do. Even if you play by the book it's still in their favor.
(I was responding as though Sukie was cribbing a spare ace or something)

I have no idea what this means. The only word I understand is "stiff" and I don't think it means what I think it means.

One more day . . . only one more day with them . . . And then, after a week of paperwork, it will be FREEDOM!!:smileybounce: :smileybounce: :smileybounce: :smileybounce:

Your needs in a nice grill and mine are probably pretty different...

Even Webers aren't that pricey. I have fried several shiny big and fancy grills, they just do not hold up. Salt air eats them. My Webber is a rock.

It's been a long day. I just got home from a parade I had no interest in attending. I had to arrive early, in order to ensure parking availability. Then I had to sit and wait for 2 1/2 hours, just to take pictures for about 5 minutes. I got volunteered to take photos of the historical society's floats.

It was not fun. Wall to wall people, many of whom are rude and selfish, and I'm mildly claustrophobic. Not my idea of a good time....

That doesn't sound fun at all.

Our internet connection has been flakey the last couple of days. The modem works fine but the internet connection has been going off and on. Like, it works for five minutes off for a few minutes. Right now it seems to be fine. Infrastructure no doubt. They must have a bad connection some where. Still a PITA though. You don't know how much you count on the connection 'til you don't have it.
I'm so excited. We are getting service at the cabin and it is fiber optic!
