my chord charts have many diminished chords on baritone fingered:
1........2
......3.........4

seems to me easier to play like this:

1... 1... 1... 1 (barred)
.......2........ 3

Please advise.

Thanks

Agreed, and you're doing nothing wrong, but there is a chord progression which can incorporate the following:

1.............2.....
......................
.......3............4

1.............2.....
.......3............4

specifically a 6th to a sharpened diminished in whichever key you happen to be in ( eg: G6 to G#dim if played with the 3rd and 4th fingers on the 7th fret of a baritone tuned DGBE) which makes the "recommended" fingering very useful.

Personally I'd find the barred configuration cramped, but if you're happy with it and it doesn't hinder your playing, use it :)
