I'm a big fan of Benny Chong's arrangements and playing style
But recently when I've looked at a picture of Benny and his Kamaka,
I thought "Wait a tic. Isn't that a long neck tenor? The
15th fret marker is above the body of the uke as it is on a long neck tenor. A Kamaka baritone is 14 frets to the joint. In other words the 15th fret is "on" the body.
I guess my question is for Benny fans: is he playing a long neck tenor tuned to dgbe? The 19" scale of the long neck would be similar to the old white label Kamaka baritones of the 1980s. It would just be that the body is smaller.
