Hi guys, Can you give me the chords that are in this song? I can't quite make them out but I can catch a few. This is a ukulele version of E Pele E Pele, which is an old Hawaiian chant. It's not on youtube. I'm sending you a Dropbox link to it. Mahalo in advance. If you guys could post a tutorial on youtube or just say which chords to use when, that would be great! You guys are awesome!

This is done by a friend. I think that Mm Stan has probably heard this one before.

Hi Cassie,

I am confused, if your friend made this recording for you, why can't she send you the chords to play?

Wouldn't that be the easiest way? maybe you could ask her if you have not already?

I will look online for you and see if I can find anything and report back.

The song starts in Bb Major and modulates up a half step to B Major for the last half. It is a really basic I - IV - I to I - V7 - I pattern:

Bb / / / | Eb / Bb /| Bb/ / / | F7 / Bb / | (Repeats)

The middle section is where the modulation begins:

F7 - F#7 - F7 - F#7
Bdim - Cdim - C#dim - Ddim - D#dim - Edim
F#7 - F#6 - F#b13 - F#7

The last half:

B / / / | E / B /| B/ / / | F#7 / B / | (Repeats)

I hope this helps! Have fun!

Mahalo. My screen reader couldn't read some of it correctly.

No worries, I didn't realize you were using a screen reader.
Hopefully this will help.

B flat for four beats, E flat for two beats, B flat for two beats,
B flat for four beats, F seven for two beats, B flat for two beats,
This pattern repeats for the first half of the song

the middle section is a bit tricky:
F seven then F sharp seven, back to F seven then F sharp seven again
Then it is a series of diminished chords that go up by half step
B diminished to C diminished to C sharp diminished to D diminished to D sharp diminished to E diminished
Then F sharp 7 to F sharp 6 to F sharp flat 13 to F sharp seven.

The last half is up a half step:

B for four beats, E for two beats, B for two beats,
B for four beats, F sharp seven for two beats, B for two beats,
This pattern repeats until the end

Does this help at all?

Yes. That's much better. Sometimes the screen reader doesn't read certain things correctly. In case you're curious, it's a song based off of a Hawaiian chant to the fire Goddess Pele.
