Starting a ukulele group, Moonta area South Australia????

Morning all, I'm looking for tips re starting a group in my home area, mid north South Australia, in or near the Copper Coast region, Moonta, Kadina, Wallaroo.

I'm very much a beginner and am finding it difficult working on my own, there are no groups in or near the area.

Would be nice to be in contact and able to practice with and learn from like minded people.

All thoughts re setting something up would be appreciated.

What the Tampa Bay Ukulele Society did was to start a Meetup page, then a FB page. It started with an open mic once a month, then a jam session once a month. That was about 6 years ago. We now have over 1300 members. Surely you could find someone to play with!

I'm in the US at the moment, will perhaps place an ad in our local paper when I return home.
