This a project that I've been thinking about for a while now. Can I compile a rounded list of some of my favourite and best-selling albums of all time including some of the most critically acclaimed albums in music history? Then learn them all on the ukulele? The answer is yes...yes I can!

I will also be uploading the tabs to every single song I learn! you can find them in the description on the youtube video.

Week 1 is Fleetwood Mac - Rumours!

Hope you Enjoy :D

Week 2 is Stone Roses - Debut album.

Its a bold claim to call an album perfect, but **** it, the stone roses debut album is perfect. Every second of it is magical. Mani's deep bass lines, John Squires fluid guitar licks and Reni's outstanding drumming create a dense overwhelming psychedelic unforgettable musical experience.

Week 3 is Artic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am

When four unlikely working class lads from Sheffield dropped 'Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not', 10 years ago, it became the generation-defining debut album of the new millennium. Not since 'Definitely Maybe' had there been this much hype around a British debut LP. And so it went on to prove, shifting 360,000 units in its first week, smashing the records to become the fastest-selling debut album in British music history.

Week 4 is Led Zeppelin - 4

Time to take on the mighty Led Zeppelin 4. I remember watching Wayne’s world as a kid and been so curious as to why Wayne’s not allowed to play “stairway” in the guitar shop. I was like, what the fudge is stairway anyways? This was before the internet, so I asked around and soon got my answer; “The greatest song ever” they said, “How do you not know??” they exclaimed. I got hold of the album that stairway had come from and was blown away. It was a bluesy/folk/psychedelic/overwhelming experience like no other. What had I been missing? It firmly became an album of my youth and started me on a journey into the realm of classic blues rock. Of course, I needed to tackle this on a ukulele!

Week 6 is Nirvana - Nevermind

I’m really not sure how Kurt Cobain would feel about his masterpiece been played in full on a ukulele but I had to do it. Nirvana was a big middle finger to the music industry exactly when it needed it, goodbye cheesy glam and hello alternative rock. Whilst ‘alternative’ was hardly new, the attention and opportunities Nirvana’s success brought allowed people to reconnect with music that felt more real, intimate and relevant. It was like Punks second coming....Grunge!

Week 7 is Bob Marley - Legend

The title of this album says it all. It’s one of those handfuls of albums that I see in just about every house that I visit. Although it’s a Greatest hits and not strictly a studio album, It’s such an amazing body of work that i consider it to be one of the greatest of all time. Music doesn’t get more honest, simple and beautiful than this.

Week 8 is Jimmy Eat World - Bleed American

It’s safe to say Jimmy Eat World were one of my first “Favourite” bands, I mean, I grew up listening to and loved Iron Maiden, Queen and ABBA. But, you know those bands? Those ones that you first start discovering when you’re a teenager and nobody but you seems to like them? Not in a hipster way but that excitement of discovering new music for the first time, coupled with the fact that only you knows about this piece of treasure. That’s the way I felt when I heard “Salt Sweet Sugar” on late night Kerrang back in the day. Pounding drums, fast guitar solos and enough energy to power a space shuttle… I needed more. Of course, this was 2001, not only did I not have the Internet, I was a kid and I was skint. So I asked my Nana and Grandad to get it for me for Christmas. Packed full of catchy rock songs and delicate ballads, it is slowly becoming part of musical history. Jimmy Eat World helped craft the emo genre before it was hijacked and ruined by the powers that be who smelt the money. A fantastic band and defiantly one of my favourite albums of all time.

Week 9 is Guns N Roses - Appetite For Destruction

I really don’t know what I can say about Guns N Roses debut album that hasn’t been said a million times before. They erupted onto the music scene with a record that sounded so real, not polished, just pure, loud, heavy rock and roll. As a young guitarist, I dreamed of playing like Slash, and now here’s my chance!

Week 11 is Kings Of Leon - Aha Shake Heartbreak

Aha Shake Heartbreak simply solidifies the thoughts among many (myself included) that the Kings Of Leon are the best rock band to have come out of America for a long, long time. It is chock-full of lively, driving numbers, awash with Caleb's Southern, twangy drawl, Nathan's snappy and precise drumming and Matthew and Jared's solid bass-lines and catchy riffing. Make no mistake, this is one of my favourite albums of all time!

I've gotten as far as week one so far - I was curious to see how you would handle The Chain (the only song on Rumours I really like if I'm honest). Will check out some of the other videos - possibly not all of them but definitely at least Led Zep 4 and Nevermind :) Keep up the good work!

Fleetwood was one of the first ones i thought about doing when the project started, i thought it would sound great on the uke :D
Hope you enjoy them, and thanks for taking the time to watch them! if you would like to learn any of them, i have uploaded the tabs to them all!

Yeah I believe that Lindsey Buckingham learnt Travis-style picking early on and also learnt to play the banjo - his playing style is certainly an interesting choice to adapt to the ukulele :)

Week 12 is The Beatles - Sgt Peppers

One of the greatest of all time, no questions asked! This was a really fun one for the ukulele. Lots of interesting chords and memorable melodies. i hop you can enjoy it as much as i enjoyed learning it. I will be uploading tabs later today for you all

Week 12 is The Strokes - Is This It

The Strokes' first album was one of my earliest introductions to the sound of modern indie-rock music, and 'Is This It?' remains one of my favorites today. It has the big hit Last Nite which of course most people will have heard but there simply isn't a dull moment on this album!
