My wife Tammy had a BD last Sunday, so after TBUG I gave her a Seagull Merlin dulcimer. She was caught off guard, and loves it!
I tried to load a photo, but it didn't work. Probably too big.

Congrats and Happy B-Day to Tammy! :)

I would love to see a happy photo, please dont give up and please try again to upload it!

I know the whole point of a dulcimer is the diatonic scale, but if they had a Seagull Merlin with a full chromatic fretboard, I'd have bought one already. I know that I can use a fret template and install the additional frets myself, but I'd prefer it done from the maker (i.e., Seagull).

I have had several Godin and La Patrie guitars (since sold) and currently an Art & Lutherie AMI nylon cedar-top parlor guitar and those luthiers up in Canada are truly master craftsman. (Godin, La Patrie, Seagull and A&L, as well as a few others are all owned by the same company and share resources in Canada). These are are very well made with care.

I am glad to hear that your wife Tammy was happy with her new Merlin.

Might we be blessed with a video eventually? :music:

We've been talking about making videos, but that's as far as it gets.
Do you think a luthier could install frets that would convert it to Chromatic?
