Right here is my entry for Season 248 - Protest songs, this is a original song by me, so dont expect much ;) i wrote it in 2012 and i did make a video back then playing it on baritone so i have rerecorded it playing it on a 8 string tenor and not in the attic its to cold. I have included words and chords below the video if anyone is that bored they want to play it .
Once again a delight to be able to take part and thanks for hosting Doug, viva le revolution

Hey Mister Banker, how do you sleep

         D7 C G
Stealing millions in bonus as the poor starve n’ weep

G C
You fund all the despots, help governments at war

D7 C G
History is repeating, we’ve been here before

G C
Compassion costs nothing but you sold off your soul

D7 C G
Politicians your puppets in your quest for control

G C
You can cheat us and rob us and lie to our face

               D7 C G
But my pennies I will keep them away from your safe

The 'I' generation is all that I hear

Sayin’ 'I’ve got that, I want that', but you have no Idea

G C
Greedy consumers all want the new stuff

           D7 C G
Food and a bed would be good for those sleeping rough

G C
Keep all your gadgets, designer clothes too

     D7 C G
This modern world clearly hasn’t a clue

G C
Spending millions on fireworks, false idols on thrones

D7 C G
Celebrity gossip and sheep made from clones

G C
But wouldn’t it be better to help the sick and the poor

    D7 C G
The homeless, the old and the victims of war.

G C
So Hey Mister Banker, how do you sleep

         D7 C G
Stealing millions in bonus as the poor starve n’ weep.

Nice one. Just stuck the lyrics inside the 'CODE /CODE' tags so as to restore the formatting.

Great Season Doug! We need to keep going on this theme for a while longer. I don't understand how the Season weeks go by so quickly but the year 2016 seems like it will never end!

Seriously, super theme and super hosting!

I agree, perhaps we can start a Thread of Protest Songs. I've almost got mine ready. I was recording ast night with a hour to go and I couldn't play all seven verses of Man in Black clean, much less sing too. But I really enjoyed the ones that made it. Great Season Doug.

I'm late, I know, but I also want to offer my thanks to Doug. Not only was it a great season, it was a good lead-in to mine. So, Cheers!

Great Season Doug! There certainly were a great mix of classics and new ones and I'm still trying to get through them all. Congratulations Uke4ia and the other winners, too!
