Ukulele Guild of Hawaii 2016

Thanks for those samples Eddie! The 18" sounds so smooth, I am surprised it hasn't sold already!

These will be available on theukulelesite.com (HMS) but neither has been posted yet.

If you dropped that much $$ on the elysium.. would you actually take a bottle to it? On the upside the tag it comes with is also a bottle opener.

Probably not. But it makes a really cool aesthetic appeal.

Eddie, it was nice to meet you at the show on Saturday!

No cards made out of wood :) ?

Here are some more cards including one made of wood. Front Porch Ukuleles is local builder Jeff Allen who was at the show, but had missed the deadline to reserve a display spot. I've been posting in the other UGH thread in the luthier's lounge so I'll add some links to this one, also.

Click on the photo to link to the album of pics I took over the weekend.

And these are music videos from the show.

From all the photos, it looks as though this year's UGH show was in a different space than last year's show. It also looks like there were a lot more ukuleles there this year. Thanks for posting!

It was at the Moana Surfrider hotel, Mark... a much better and classier venue. Ukulele Guild of Hawaii has Hired a promoter, a gal named Mari and she's done a great job getting exposure,
locations and sponsors...like the micro soft gig at Ala Moana
You may be right there was more luthiers it seems this year and a much bigger crowd from promoting and the location

Mahalo Stan! Sorry I couldn't get there this year. I'm glad to hear that the show did well and that it's gaining momentum.

Thanks for posting these. It's nice to have a face to go with the names. Especially that sneaky Stan.....

Great thread, thanks. After listening to the sound samples, my favorite is the Little River tenor with the beautiful Diamondhead inlay. Looks amazing with a tone to match.

Well, FWIW, I for one would like to thank Ukulele Eddie for sharing links to these beautiful instruments, all created by master builders. And thanks also for providing URLs to great instruments being played by musicians with skills I wish I had.
Yes, they are material objects. But they are also instruments for creating and playing music. To me, instruments are not material objects to be consumed. They are tools to help create...
