    Hello wee ginga yin,
Gimme Some Truth is particularly topical with a general election coming up in the UK and I'm interested in trying to play Lennon's song. I've seen guitar chords using D, F♯m , D7, G, A, C, B♭ but wonder what you have found that works on the ukulele and if you have produced your song by ear or if you have written down tabs or chords for it?
    Best wishes,
    Paul

These are the chords I used. Don't be afraid of A# it is just a Bb (1123) in disguise. and the D# is just D moved up one fret and the same with
C# (full C 3345 up to C# 4456) That full C (3345) can slide down to Bb and up to C# so that makes it easier to play. In the original the capo
was on the 3rd fret and the key was in F. I just transposed it so I could play it straight.
    Code:
    F Am F7
I'm sick and tired of hearing things from uptight, short-sighted narrow-minded hypocritics
    A# C
All I want is the truth
    A# C
    Just gimme some truth

    F Am F7
I've had enough of reading things by neurotic, psychotic, pig-headed politicians
    A# C
All I want is the truth
    A# C
    Just gimme some truth

    D#
No short-haired yellow-bellied son of Tricky Dicky's gonna mother hubbard
                                           C#
soft-soap me with just a pocketful of hope
               G# A#

Thanks for clarifying your title. I was pretty sure it was "The Crooked Hilary" song. Why are snide political comments ok on this forum? I thought we were about ukuleles, not politics or religion.

Always been one of my favorites. John was surely the genius of his (my) generation.
(No need to include trump. He is a son of tricky dickie.)

Ukuleles are about music. Music is art. Please don't let politics censor it.

Social conscience is one thing. Political sniping is another. Maybe that might be more appropriate to another kind of forum.

Utterly agreed. Art has many guises. Music is one of them. The day we censor the creative spirit is one we should all be afraid of.
Political correctness is killing the western world.
This is awesome wee. Take a bow.

Politics has many guises. Music is one of them. Politics and religion are volatile subjects that are wisely off limits on THIS forum. Certainly discussions and music about politics are a good thing...elsewhere.
