Hi all!

For those who perhaps haven't heard the name before, Thomann is a well-known European music store, based in Germany.

Besides the wide variety of uke brands (Kala, Cordoba, Luna, Gretsch, Ibanez etc) it provides, they are also making their own house-brand ukes:

https://www.thomann.de/intl/concert_ukuleles.html?filter=true&manufacturer[0]=Thomann&oa=pra

https://www.thomann.de/intl/tenor_ukuleles.html?filter=true&manufacturer[0]=Thomann&oa=pra

https://www.thomann.de/intl/bariton_ukuleles.html?filter=true&manufacturer[0]=Thomann&oa=pra

Has anyone perhaps tried them out?? Any opinions or remarks??

To me, they look a lot like Brüko ukuleles with a few minor changes in detail. It wouldn't surprise me if that's what they are.

Thomson seem to have deliberately used their own name for this range to differentiate it from Harley Benton which is also, I believe, a Thomann brand.

If I needed a new Uke I'd definitely consider one of these Thomson ones, although would probably go for another Brüko regardless, as I much prefer friction tuners.

Thanks for the "heads-up". I hadn't seen these before now.

I couldn't get the links to work. But looking through their own make ukes made me think they were very like the APC ones. (But I might have been looking at different models?) I did used to have an APC concert and it was good for the money I thought, and these are cheaper...

Like other stores, Thomann just slaps their name on non-branded instruments of different origin. Most of the ukes that run under that name are made by APC in Portugal, other's seem to come from Hora in Romania, that's why it says "Made in Europe".

Apologies, you're right, JesterBlod! Many do look very much APC. I'm very tempted by that banjo ukulele. I'll be visiting Portugal later this year so might see if I can strum one before buying.
