hey any/all,

I am new to the uke, but have been playing music for a long time. Am looking for a good book of Hawaiian music specifically, with the melody included, not just the chords. Anyone know of such a thing?

Thanks!

Daniel Ho's Polani songbook is very good.

I quite like the Polani songbook, as well. Mark Kailana Nelson's Learn to Play Fingerstyle Solos for 'Ukulele has some nice arrangements of Hawaiian and non-Hawaiian material, and it's a little more pedagogically oriented, which I've found helpful.

Edit: Just a note: Polani is for linear tuning; Nelson's book is for reentrant tuning. In both cases, there's some material that could work the other way (maybe with some minor changes).

thanks! it's on its way from Amazon. Also got 2 related books by Herb Otah Jr.

Are the two by Herb Ohta Jr. the ones he did with Daniel Ho (Discovering the Ukulele and Exploring the Ukulele) or are they just by him?
