Uploading image problem

Hi, I can't seem to upload images to a new post. Each one I select from browsing my computer, show up as file too large and won't allow me to upload. I've done this without problems many times regardless of file size, as the way I understand it, images are compressed automatically. Is there a problem with the site at present?

As far as I've known, there is a limit as to the file size. I always adjust my images to conform to the file size limit, I think it's 100k.

I've never had to resize images to upload before, because the system did it automatically. Why it's different I don't know.

I wasn't able to upload some jpg. pictures of a uke I wanted to sell. Never had a problem before.

I just realized something, I actually don't upload images, I use a link to my own server.
