Learning with Capo

Are there any UU lessons on playing songs with a Capo? I've never played guitar before learning ukulele and I see that most guitar players use a capo. Thanks. Tony

There are plenty of ukulele players who use a capo...if you use one, you just need to accept that intonation may be farther off than it was, and of course, the ukulele will have even less "bass" and some chords can be difficult to play on the smaller frets. That said, it can make playing in certain keys a much better scenario.

While some people will say there are rules about ukulele...I would encourage you to do what works for you.

Here is a good bit of practice for you. In the following video Mim plays a Sopranissimo. I am not sure of the tuning, I guess it's one step higher than gCEA because if you capo with your standard tuned uke at the second fret you will be able to play right along with Mim. Use the same chord shapes she is using. I will link to a chord sheet too.
