Hi folks,

I'm brand new to the forums here and keen to be part of the wider uke community.

I've had an ukulele since 2002. It was 2013 when I started dedicating some real effort to playing. I think what helped was a combination of giving up an old home brewing hobby and keeping the uke in a high-traffic part of the house. Music is more or less in the forefront of life nowadays.

Now I am running a lil uke group in my hometown. We performed for the first time last week, at an open mic night at the pub that hosts our meetups.

Lots of Aussies in the Forum here, Cam! Well done on starting the group & now performing at the Pub - it takes guts to get up & do that!

You'll only be getting better & better as a player, I reckon - cos you have to stay one step ahead of your members! (Exactly what happened to me back in 2010 when I tried to find people to play with ..... I had to be the 'leader'!) LOL
