A friend told me a few verses of a very funny old song that Lil Rev used to do. Part of the chorus goes, "and now I don't work there anymore."
She can't remember the rest of it, and we want to learn it to perform in ALFs.
Does anyone know it, or have the lyrics?

Wikipedia says the song was written in 1945 by Larry Vincent. Mudcat gives two verses with a ca. 1938 origin.

Here's the Mudcat link: http://www.mudcat.org/@displaysong.cfm?SongID=2873

(I first heard the song back around 1979, sung by Broadway Harris (aka Broadway Blotto) - I can't remember his real name, but I saw him many times as a member of The Star Spangled Washboard Band and Blotto, and he used to perform solo at The Electric Grinch in Schenectady.)

My favorite line was always "A lady came in, and asked for a bottle/what kind of bottle said I?/ Liquor she said, so lick her I did / I'll never work there any more."
