    Default Sticky Ukulele Strings

Our ensemble often has snacks of pastries and coffees during practice session breaks. There is a lot of joking around about sticky ukulele strings, so I thought it might be fun to have a song about it.
None of us are all that creative, so will you all help me write a silly song about it?

Well, here's a starter for you.

    About once a week
    I play uke & seek
    All the pastries & cake
    At our ukulele break

    We get a sticky finger
    & that does linger
    Upon the string
    As the chords do ring
    Keith M --> likes a long neck - & being different.....

It's no fun when cinnamon bun
Ends up on your E string.
    And when your Aquila Lava
    Is covered in baklava
    It's no laughing mah-tah!
I'd like to be under the sea...

    Ok. I'll play

If You Can’t Join ‘em, Lick ‘em

    A sticky-stringed thing is a horrible thing
To play in the comp’ny of friends
‘Twixt the donuts and pastries and Turkish delights
My uke’ sees a stickiness knowing no end

But resisting the sweets is beyond my control
When my nose gets the scent of a fresh jelly roll!
And the heavenly cream of a chocolate éclair?
Get thee, tongue, to the table! Eschew the flatware!

Attempting the strains of a classical piece
    The group leader cries, “Legato!”
But my fingers are covered in sugary goo,
Through the glaze come the notes in stickatto

A gospel tune from deep in the south
Finds me with my uke drawing close to my mouth
And when the ensemble rises to sing,
I sit quietly, hungrily licking my strings.

    End

    Ick-ee
    Stick-ee
    But Oh so sweet

    U-ku
    Le-Le
    At my feet

    At the
    Tab-le
    Eyes open wide

    Cook-ies
    Brown-ies
    Tempt my tummy

    But, food-ie
    Fing-ers
    On my strings

    Makes me
    Ang-ry
    Such nasty things

    Nap-kins
    Wet-wipes
    Are a must!

    Be-fore
    We play
    A-gain, today.
    -Joe......Have uke, will travel...
