Hi all,

it's been a while, but my music playing took a different direction, sold most of my uke gear, this Barron Rivers baritone was purchased on a whim, it's beautiful, this one is actually pictured on Allen Mcfarlens barren river site, under gallery-baritone, the specs are

6 string ukulele in Australian Blackwood with a Cedar Soundboard. Indian Rosewood trim and a modern Art Deco styling, pickup fitted, amazing Gotoh precision machine heads, mother or pearl inlaid fret markers on the fret board and fret M,O,P markers down the sound of the neck, strings are threaded through bridge holes, then you place a bead on the end and tie a knot in the string end, then the usual winding around the machine heads, nice and clean with no messy string ends at the bridge, all in all it's a real piece of craftmanship, Barron river ukes are custom builds and this one comes out at around £1200 with shipping, dollar price was about $2100
scale length 22” and it's strung now with a fresh set of Kamaka strings - D, gG, B, ee, it's in lovely condition, but it's got to go sadly, I would prefer UK, make me an offer best around £600 gets it, which is low, but as I said bought on a whim, and due to classical guitar taking all my time and effort, it's got to go, make me an offer....:D actual uke is here on Allen - Barron river site http://www.brguitars.com/gallery/baritone/ it's the 6th image, only 6 string in the baritone gallery

Thanks Janet. I've been in touch with Mark today. Shipping is a factor. Another buyer may be in a better location. I will defer to his judgment where this beauty should land. Regardless I'm sure it will find a good home!

Yes shipping is a problem to the USA, at present I can't get an accurate quote, and the UK companies/parcelforce use a volumetric calculator, which takes the 4.5kg package up to 15kg
this is based on the dimensions and not the actual weight.

Europe is fine for some reason and I have a quote of £60 and uk is also easy £42,
it really does have to go so i'm willing to go halves on the postage cost's and will try and speak to the carriers UPS/Parcelforce today and nail them down to an accurate price
so it's still available.......

Mark

I hope you find a new home for this soon - I have been looking at it for a while on Gumtree..... unfortunately I simply haven't got the funds available to me (unless my Premium Bonds come through! But it is a such a gorgeous looking ukulele.

Hi - lovely uke - tried to PM an offer but got a message that couldn't send as you have too many messages - are you able to clear any out?

Cheers,
Andy

I have played 4 BR ukes across different scales.
They are premium instruments.
Whoever is lucky enough to own this upon sale is extremely fortunate, and at this price w/ pick-up this baritone is a gift.

Sorry if messages have been bounced guys and girls, I forgot there's a mailbox limit, all cleared out now.

Mark

Mark is moving heaven and earth to get me a reliable ship cost and is finding that instruments, particularly guitars are not eligible for enhanced insurance coverage. Has anyone run into this problem with international shipments? I was surprised to find it would be so difficult to ship an instrument like this tracked and insured for the customs declared value.

Any advice or thoughts from our more experienced buyers or sellers?

Jon? You've shipped more international than most. What method have you used?

sorry to all in the USA, but shipping a ukuklele stateside can only be covered with £50 insurance, enhanced insurance can be purchased but musical instruments, guitars and brass are not covered, so pointless paying for it if it's no good, I have a UK offer so will go with that,

all the best Mark
