Uke clubs in the UK

I will be visiting Aberdeen, Manchester and Abergavenny (Scotland, England and Wales, respectively) this July with a friend. Anyone know of any uke groups in those areas? Won't be bringing the ukes over, but hoping to pick up one while there just to strum for the duration.

This might be a place to start - http://www.gotaukulele.com/p/ukulele-clubs-and-societies.html - but there may be others which aren't on that list. And some that are on there might have gone (I have just seen one in my home town that no longer exists).

I don't know those areas but you are well advised to try Baz Maz's UK Uke site (got a ukulele). EDIT, and this site too ( http://ukulelehunt.com/2010/03/10/ukulele-clubs-and-groups-in-the-uk-and-ireland-2/ ). There's a list of clubs on it/them and that's what I used when I first joined a club. Don't expect it/them to be complete and up to date, it's a start point and contacting a couple of clubs near were you are going will likely lead you to being given additional deatails of other clubs too.
