Tommy, Brian and Rob submitted beautiful versions of this song. I thought I'd throw my boater into the ring. Fun Season! I've worn a boater hat and whistled in three consecutive songs! Hooray!

Half Time Scores

If I have to sum up the season so far I can do it with one word. Quality.
We now have 32 songs in the playlist and I so happy that the open format
that allows participants to collaborate is working. It takes a load off my shoulders.

We seem to have a theme song for the season, since 4 people have now performed
Whispering which was originally uploaded by Tommy. I think I may have persuaded
Val to do a breathy ASMR Marilyn Monroe version, and in the interests of equality
I would encourage other ladies to record the song. It is quite simple and has a lovely
melody. I append Tommy's original chords for anyone who wants to give it a try.

Key of G.

[G] Whispering why you'll never [F#7] leave me.
[G] Whispering why you'll never [E] grieve [E7] me.
[A] Whisper and say that you be-[D7]lieve me.
[Am] Whispering that [C] I [Cm] love [G] you.

[G] Whispering while you cuddle [F#7] near me,
[G] Whispering so no one can [E] hear [E7] me.
[A] Each little whisper seems to [D] cheer [D7] me.
[G] Oh, I [Gdim] know it's [G] true,
[A] There's no [Am7] one, dear, [D]but you.

[G] Whispering why you'll never [F#7] leave me.
[G] Whispering why you'll never [E] grieve [E7] me.
[A] Whisper and say that you be-[D7]lieve me.
[Am] Whispering that [C] I [Cm] love [G] you.

No big story except to say I love this kind of music and can't play it for toffee. One Man and his Uke had a much smoother version earlier in the season but here goes.

Hi Rob. Yup, it seems as if "Whispering" has become the song of the Season! I sang my version in C, and I notice that my chord structure is not the same as what Tommy offered. Mine is likely not "correct," because I worked it out myself. But if it's helpful to anyone, here it is.

Whispering - Key of C

[C] Whispering why you'll never [B7] leave me.
[C] Whispering why you'll never [A] grieve [A7] me.
[D] Whisper and say that you be-[G7]lieve me.
[Dm] Whispering that [F] I [Fm] love [C] you. [Dm] [G7]

[C] Whispering while you cuddle [B7] near me,
[C] Whispering so no one can [A] hear [A7] me.
[D] Each little whisper seems to [G] cheer [G7] me.

[C] Oh, I [C#dim] know it's [Dm] true, [G7]
There's [Dm] no one, dear, but [G7] you.

[C] Whispering why you'll never [B7] leave me.
[C] Whispering why you'll never [A] grieve [A7] me.
[D] Whisper and say that you be-[G7]lieve me.
[Dm] Whispering that [F] I [Fm] love [C] you.

Here is my late night attempt at Somebody Loves You. All the chord sheets you find online are difficult so Ive simplified this down and added the chords to the YT description.

I recorded in the dark so I gave you something much more interesting to look at :)

This is an odd choice , no, CeeJay doing something Odd ?? It is a march by Carl Teike from circa 1889 .
I first heard it on an LP called " Abteilung Marsch " in Germany in the 70s and was smitten.Never thought I might one day try it out on a Banjo Ukulele though !!

Series 1 Episode 2 apparently . Played on the Dutch Steam Organ De Leeuwin (Dampf Orgel ?)

I adapted this version from Ukester Brown. He included the extra verses. Ive added them to the description on YT.

There'll be some changes made

The songs wre one of those things I liked the most about Boardwalk Empire. This songs was featured in a wonderful Kathy Brier rendition.

I made it extra short, so you will have time to listen.

I know that the one verse is supposed to be sung twice, with an instrumental verse in between and an intro. But just getting this recorded was tough on my fingers.
I practiced my fingers sore trying to change from Bb to Bb7, in the barred G-shape way, which I was supposed to do for a quick Bb - Bb7 - A7 - Ab7 - G7 chord progression in the end, but I never managed ot learn it.

One of my favorite singers - Nellie McKay - did this for Boardwalk Empire.

I thought I would join in the Whispering, here is my interpretation. I added some visuals so you guy did have to look at me hanging back too much ;).

The Varied Nations ? Did you say ?

Yeah. that too....we have a few...
