I'm a noob player, having owned a ukulele about 2 weeks now. But I've been practicing every day (now have callouses on my fingertips), and want to learn all I can about this wonderful instrument. I played guitar for a little bit in my teen years, but abandoned it to life responsibilities. The ukulele has been lurking in the back of my mind until recently, when it's now very much in the forefront!

Looking forward to learning lots here.
 
Welcome Clabbergirl. Seems like Nashville would be a great place to do anything musical. Have you checked if there are any uke groups or clubs? That's usually a good place to get involved, most are open to beginners.

Yes, the Nashville Ukulele Society is a great group. You just missed a meeting Monday night of this week. There's a place to sign up for emails on the blog, and receive notices (and directions) to the next meeting.
 
Sorry I missed the meeting, but thank you for the info. I have signed up for the mailing list! Are they understanding of newbies?
