Default Season 284 Time to sing along

Sorry no introductory video this time. As I said in the previous season, last week was not the best of weeks and I spent today in York playing medieval music so I was a bit tired when I got home.

This season's theme is "Time for a singalong". You've got a gig at a local pub or old folks home or other community event and you've been told they like to sing along. There's lots of songs that people "know" but what they actually tend to know is one verse and the chorus at most. So you are going to make your set up of a series of medleys of well known songs that people will join in with. Your medley can just consist of two songs or it can be more. It's up to you. You will need enough medleys to make up a set so you can submit up to as many as you think you will need for a 30 - 40 minute set or you can just submit one medley. It's all up to you. This is all about having fun both for yourself and others.

    The usual rules apply.

Recordings made specially for this week and featuring ukulele
Start time midnight Hawaii Sunday till midnight Hawaii the following Sunday
Solo, collabs or multi tracking are fine, after all your gig might be for a band
Say somewhere your recording is for season 284

    Have fun.

I forgot to say. The Mbuti specialise in medleys as well as being the other things I mentioned.

Just to clarify, it's OK to do a medley purely in Mbuti, if we so choose?

A good challenge Geoff. I hope I have time to build a suitable set list of medleys for you this week.
"Inspire me muse to sing of the wanderer, who sailed the wine dark sea and toppled the towers of Ilium"
    "Make a Joyous Noise"
"Let there be song to fill the air"

Well medleys aren't my favourite musical form.
They kind of remind me of those ransom notes made by sticking words from various sources to make the sentences you want.
That said I have one in the bag ready to go as I do enjoy the challenge of doing something I otherwise would avoid.
    Nothing Mbuti about it though...
    Thanks for the week Geoff!

Not sure how much I'll be able to contribute in the next few weeks but I'll be checking out and enjoying other's contributions in any case

Hope things improve at home, Geoff - & I might even have a try this week although I'm not sure of the mbuti words I might need - oh, what's that, I don't have to sing in mbuti...
