Best value solid mohagany soprano?

Kiwaya or Mainland / Ohana (they're quasi-related IIRC) - both are great.
Personally I love the look of Mainland's rope binding. Mike sometimes has factory Seconds available too

I was intrigued by the Mainland / Ohana link but it appears, from what I found, to be casual in that there was rumour that both brands use the same factory in China, see: http://forum.ukuleleunderground.com/archive/index.php/t-25865.html . As I've worked in a factory that produced a great variety of different products it is, IMHO, not correct to assume that goods produced in the same place will have a lot or even much in common (in terms of material, design and build).

It's not particulaly related to this thread but I love the comment by Rev Will in that old thread, good advice from his Father-in-Law.

An important thing for me is the nut width. One of the reasons I like Martins is the nut width. It is just a tad wider than alot of sopranos , that little bit extra makes a big difference for me.

Don't get me wrong. I think Bushmans (Bushmen?) have historically been great. But there's another thread started just the other day asking of they're still making ukuleles. Are they? Are they still any good?
