Saw this old uke recently, bridge & slot seem to be tilted a bit towards the head, and the saddle is a cylindrical piece of material,, just sitting part way in the slot, with empty air below. Not good I assume, since there is no contact between the bottom of the saddle and the bottom of the saddle slot? I assume this was a misguided mod. Tone was nice, but not very loud. I expect a properly seated saddle (if possible with the tilted bridge/slot) would yield more volume.
