I'm looking for an all solid koa instrument, preferably concert size but open to soprano or tenor. Have to be ok shipping to the UK and I'm a little restricted on budget as I have to factor in customs my side. Probably $500 and under (a tall ask, I know!)

That said, a few signs of wear or dings are therefore acceptable as long as it doesn't affect sound or play.

If anyone has anything they are looking to sell, pm me :)

I have some CUSTOM concerts , SOLID KOA (high figure), picked the wood myself from 4/4 lumber, from Big Island made by luthier here in Salem Oregon ,but too bad your not local to see & play them which I would prefer otherwise you would be very happy with what I would sell out of my collection

I will be visiting the Big Island in March and would like to return with a all Koa uke, maybe a long-neck concert. It really has to be all-Koa, i.e. no rosewood or other CITES parts as I am from Canada. Where about is your store?

Don't have a store, but I might have more UKES than most-over 70. I only had the luthier make me 12-14 UKES out of solid koa from Mauna Loa slopes. Have a small pile of KOA left-figured.I am just a UKE NUT in Oregon

If you are there for two weeks, you could make your own with koa wood by contacting Sam Rosen, he teaches you how in shop-classes, then you go home with one you made

No disrespect to Mim's, I say, why go Chinese, when you can go Hawaiian for not much more... IMUA is doing a lot of crazy deals right now, check the link below. :shaka:

You can get a Soprano or Concert in like the $500-$600 range, their prices are crazy at the moment, this is the deal!

I put up info about them in Uke Talk.

Jorma Winkler the owner is the top Koa expert in the world, and supplier to many of the big names out there, the link below is the wood side of the business. So this isn't just having a ukulele luthier build an Uke, but having the top Koa expert in on the process too. :)

Yes. If the OP can stretch the buget a wee bit there was a very nice koa concert for $675(?) that caught my eye.

$685 and there's also a 10% discount they are adding to it. So maybe can get one $600 shipped out...

If anyone is looking for Koa ukulele sets to build their own ukulele checkout www.koalitywoods.com

We're a local supplier in Hawaii and while we don't manufacture ukuleles, we do supply some great Koa for your next instrument!
